SEN Shakespeare workshops
Working with children with physical, learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties, our sessions can be tailored to suit the specific needs of the group. S4K makes Shakespeare accessible to everyone.
About S4K's SEN Shakespeare workshops
Each workshop lasts for a maximum of two hours and is run by two actors with teaching knowledge and experience of working with Special Educational Needs. The aim of the workshop is to progress through the entire play, examining the plot and the relevant characters. The students take part in physical performance and activities as well as discussion and are encouraged to contribute ideas throughout.
Up to 35 children act out the story of each play. They meet the characters and think through the twists and turns of the plot for themselves, discovering character's motivations for their actions and words.
There are some physical exercises where the whole group is active as well as periods when pupils play specific roles within the play. Here, discussions on what is happening and what the characters feel are encouraged.
Each workshop production includes simple costumes and props.

- 25% deposit required by return to secure booking, with balance payable four weeks before date of first Workshop
